TGES ALEXANDER

So what is this TGES ALEXANDER?
Some of you must be aware of it...well most aren't.

So this is for all who would wish to learn about this happening. Yes, it is a happening at SMIS; rather in TGES. It is a training session conducted by the Expert Counselor & Teacher Trainer of TGES - Dr. Bhagirathsinh Jadeja.

TGES ALEXANDER is a special training program designed by Bhagirath Sir for the Student Prefect Council Members who get elected by students. He has been successfully practicing this Training Session with the Prefects of all schools of Rajkot under the banner of TGES since 3 years. This year SMIS was fortunate to hold this event for the first time as we have our CATs elected this year. We as a school are looking forward to holding this Training Program for our elected members every year onward now.

Talking about this year's training program; it was indeed an overwhelming experience for our students. They were put on rigorous team activities throughout the day where they were required to think like a leader, like a team-player, but maintaining the individual identity. They were required to take tough decisions, predict the unpredictable outcomes to ensure best decision, read the minds of their team-mates and opposing teams...Oh i can go on and on...but then only reading through my draft would sound boring so take a look at the video...

Well, what did this training session result into - in my opinion the outcome is in the making; as it will reap into a long term impact for it to be effective; but talking about day-to-day and immediate outcome - our children realized that its not easy to just be able to take tough decisions as these decisions affect those who are living entities and not all may find one's decision conducive to all; significance of being a team-player; sacrificing one's decision for the better interest of the team; fighting to preserve a team-mate over winning the game...Phew...there are many many more lessons that our children have learnt during these significant 9 hours...it seemed as a crash course in Leadership.
